Receives SMACNA National Safety Award

ROCK ISLAND,
IL - Crawford Company has been recognized for excellence in safety by the Sheet Metal
and Air Conditioning Contractors' National Association (SMACNA). Crawford
participated in the Safety Excellence Award Program (SEAP) in 2002, representing
over 51-million hours worked from contractor's throughout the
nation.
Crawford worked
134,745 hours with "zero injury incidents" in 2002 and ranked third among
contractor's in the "100,000-200,000 Hours Worked Division." Buffalo Sheet
Metals, Inc. (Buffalo, NY) and Singer Sheet Metal (Parkersburg, WV) ranked just
ahead of Crawford.
SMACNA members,
who participated in the program, had an overall incident-rate of 4.83, nearly 45
percent less than the most recent OSHA incidence rate of 8.20 for construction -
special trade contractors. Crawford's incident rate was
0.00.
"Significant
strides, with regard to safety, have been made within our industry and many
contractors have steadily improved safe practices in the workplace," said Robert
